I Call It Mockery
You stand at my bedside,
arms folded,
eyes rolling,
compassion missing.
My pain is an inconvenience to you,
my tears,
a nuisance.
You laugh when you should listen.
You call it care.
I call it cruelty.
You call it medicine.
I call it mockery.
What oath did you take?
When did you bury your heart?
Why choose this path
if compassion never finds you?
In your hands,
hope fractures.
Trust withers.
And every word you speak
turns medicine into mockery.
This has been a long and painful week.
After guidance from patients,
patient advocates,
and malpractice attorneys,
I have decided to file a formal complaint.
I write this not out of vengeance,
but because this week has been frightening,
exhausting,
and stressful—
because this could have been avoided.
Dear Doctor,
I was in pain,
I was sick,
and you did this.
You laughed at me.
You recommended faulty things.
You failed me.
The reviews don’t lie.
I am not the only one.
And still,
I pray hope finds you,
Forgiveness touches you,
and that anyone who crosses your path
is shielded from your wrath.
But even in the darkest halls of medicine, compassion still exists. If you are hurting, know this:
your voice matters,
your pain is real,
and you are not alone.
If you are hurting, know this: your voice matters, your pain is real, and you are not alone. This is not the end of the story, for every voice silenced by cruelty, another rises stronger.
Keep fighting for your truth, because care without compassion is not care at all, and you deserve better.
To anyone who has felt unseen or unheard, your pain is not imaginary, and your story matters. Together we can demand better, hope louder, and remind each other that healing is still possible. You are not alone, you are not invisible, and compassion is real, and it will find you.
If you ever feel like you can’t do this anymore,
Please reach out.
Don’t suffer in silence.
